We came on again to the store to ask them about what happened to our internet and One of the employees who helped us again was being very rude and acted like he didn’t want to help us finally helped us log on to our new Xfinity account to activate. Alyssa Callahan: Friday afternoon I dropped off my flex streaming box that I don’t use at this store, and for some reason somebody shut down all of my devices, turning off my modem that I own. I called customer service and was told it would take 2 hours to turn back on. Fast forward to Saturday morning, I still have no internet and now I’m being told that because it’s the weekend the customer solutions team is closed and they can’t help me until Monday. This is unacceptable service and I can’t wait until I cancel this company at the end of the month. Will never use xfinity again and will make sure none of my friends or family do either

Jeff Sylvan: Update: RCN did ask how they could make things right and seemed sincere, but I already moved on to another provider.My experience was similar to that of K I, Kristy, and the others in regards to billing issues, though not as extreme.In my case I was flat out told that for most people, it's simply not worth the effort to find a new provider, which is why they don't bother correcting discrepancies or slowly rising bills.Sadly their surprisingly honest and blunt statement was correct - the numbers weren't big enough for it to be worth my time to cause me to switch. Note that in my case, reps I talked to were not rude, just blunt. Likewise there didn't seem to be any malice on the part of the reps, rather they seemed to be bound by policies that were not on the side of the customers. Additionally, some reps did suggest calling another time to see if there were active deals that I could qualify for later.That said, the frequency of these small little issues eventually was enough for me to begin to look elsewhere . Ironically the last straw was my credit card provider repeatedly flagging RCN. This isn't something that, to my knowledge, happened with other providers - just them. Which means my autopay for them specifically shuts off randomly, something I have to keep an eye on despite their claim it's fire and forget. Which is enough of an inconvenience for me to look elsewhere.

Kristy J: Price for our internet went up by $45 per month over the last two months, and when we contacted customer service we were rudely told that it was non-negotiable even though the new customer deal is $100 per month less than what they were now charging us and most other providers in the area charge $50 less than they want to charge us. Customer service representative abruptly cut off the conversation without wrapping it up. This was too bad since we had received relatively decent service from the company for many years.

Mark N: Installation and set up by tech went smoothly. Internet works great at advertised advertised. First bill was confusing with discounts and additions, hopefully it will be cleared up on the 2nd bill. Advertised price is kind of a scam at $20.99 after a $5 discount for auto pay. In the fine print they charge you $9.77 per month maintenance fee so the real price is $30.76 per month . Maybe they should advertise a price of 1 cent per month then charge you $30.75 per month maintenance fee, that sounds like a much better deal. Away at $30.76 it is still way better than Comcast internet at $90 per month. Just be honest and advertise the bottom line price.
Michael Sullivan: Had a sales rep come to my door in peabody who told me fiber had been setup in the area and was available for a great price. I stupidly bought in. They sent a tech out today got everything setup, and when I ran a speed test my speeds were nowhere near what was told to me. I've been on hold for an hour trying to reach somebody to have them come out and undo this mess. I directly contacted the sales rep as well as he gave me his contact info, but he dodged my calls. This is an absolute scam, they'll like to get your business.

PS: The WORST service provider ever! i have been a customer for many years but the price went from $164 per month (as RCN) for cable, internet and landline to $258 per month (as Astound for the same service without any notification. the only thing ASTOUNDing is their high prices and poor services. Since ASTOUND took over my internet drops out once or twice a week. TIVO and regular TV stalls with the spinning circle that says loading daily. Horrible. Do yourself a favor and stay clear to this 3rd rate service provider. I'm going over to Xfinity.

Sid Macleod: Terrible experience. Introductory rate was reasonable, and then very sneakily the price doubled. What is worse, is that the maximum download speeds ever attained were a mere 1/4 of the advertised speed (acknowledging that the speed will vary based on the bandwidth being used in the area, but in what world is 25% of the advertised value acceptable anywhere?). Called customer support to try to find a resolution to this issue, was told one thing, then saw my bill and realized I had been completely misled. Very upset, poor value for money and deceptive customer service. Will switch to alternative ISP ASAP

Bridget Lucas: I had RCN for years before it switched to astound and loved it. Never missed a payment, customer service was SPECTACULAR. Then it switched and my cable stopped working, for some reason the automatic payments set up discontinued, and our internet service was a flashback to 90’s dial up internet. When dealing with customer service it was a bunch of issues as well. I opted to just switch service altogether then to deal with them any longer. It’s really unfortunate how far the services and customer service has fallen.
Aparna R: This is one of the worst internet providers I have had, INCLUDING Comcast. I was vastly overcharged from what I signed up for. I was told I would be paying $60 for my internet package and $15 for the router per month. What actually was charged was $105 for internet, $15 for the router, and $15 for "wifi service"! When I called RCN to explain this, customer service was very rude and spoke in a very condescending way as though I could not understand basic math. And in the end, the charges were not corrected to what I signed up for.I am switching to Starry, which is a mere $30 per month instead! And their service is much less rude when you have a problem!I would stay FAR away from RCN. The amount of hidden charges and fees even for the basic installation was ridiculous. For example, an extra $10 was charged for "fees" -- and no one at RCN could explain to me what those "FEES" were!The people you speak to when starting service are actively dishonest about the amount that you will have to pay.If you go with RCN, I recommend keeping a close eye on all your bills, and being prepared to dispute dishonest charges with them month-by-month!

They have extremely reasonable rates and have real people with real concern for giving you the best possible service at the best possible rate! They've always been there for us! RCN is the best! The employees are incompetent in understanding billing, canceling service and providing consistent and considerate service.

Michael Brown: I asked the technician to wear a face mask while inside and he said he didn’t even have one. How can you not own a mask in 2022? It’s the law for technicians to wear one in Massachusetts and it’s also the easiest way to prevent the spread of COVID. So much for premium service lol!
Tie Xu: I have the basic internet service. The maximum speed is 50 M. The quality is very unreliable. The download speed sometimes drops to 1 to 5 M, or even bellow 1M in early evening. Late evening it becomes better. It is almost impossible to watch YouTube at that low speed.2/24/2022 The quality looks better now. When the bandwidth drops, reboot modem usually can solve the problem.

Maurine Mihalek: I had Sprint Phone Connect 3 as my landline for several years. I absolutely loved it. The phone unit cost less than $40.00. The phone connections were reliable. The calls were always crisp and clear. And I NEVER, EVER, EVER  had any dropped calls. I never needed to call tech support. The cost was extremely affordable at only $15.00 per month. Unfortunately, it was a 3G device which Sprint, now part of T-mobile, discontinued supporting around January,  2022.I found Community Phone on the internet. It sounded like a way to still have a landline. I started as a customer in November, 2021. I am NOT happy with this replacement product. I had to purchase their device (the Landline Base) for a one-time, upfront fee of $99.00. I wasn't happy about that but assumed it had 4G or 5G technology in it, so I accepted that requirement.I am still using the same cordless phone units which I previously used successfully with Sprint Phone Connect 3. Sound quality was always great with Sprint. Now with Community Phone, the quality of the sound during calls is bad. With my volume turned all the way up, the first several minutes of a call are faint. It improves only slightly later in the call. I find that parts of the conversations are not very clear.And the number of calls that are dropped or just end abruptly for no reason at all is intolerable. There is no warning when it might happen. I have never experienced this with any other phone company in my life. On my end there is a loud screeching noise.  I can try to talk, but the person on the other end doesn't hear anything, just silence, no sounds. This happens A LOT, way too often. Recently, when someone calls me and I answer, we both hear a loud dee-dee-dee sound, and the dee-dee-dee noise just keeps repeating. We have to hang up and redial. Sometimes we get a normal connection,  but sometimes we get the weird dee-dee-dee sounds again.I set up voice mail with Community Phone. Big mistake. I was dissatified with how it works. Once activated the Community Phone voice mail cannot be deactivated per tech support. I like to use my answering machine on my cordless phone. It is much simpler than trying to access the Community Phone message system. I called tech support several times for a solution. I asked them to cancel my voice mail setup, but they said that cannot be done. They claim they fixed it so that there would be more (4 or more) rings before my voicemail message kicks in, but it is still 3 rings. I am not impressed with their tech support staff.And the monthly cost for Community Phone is more than triple what I paid with Sprint. I pay almost $49.00 per month for much, much worse service. The Senior Discount is only good for 3 months and then it disappears forever.I wanted to post reviews on Google and Yelp, but it seems Community Phone has several addresses which don't seem to work for Yelp or Google. So I have left reviews with the BBB, with Google (for Community Phone landlines in Illinois} and Trustpilot.I am looking for alternatives because with Community Phone, the quality of the phone connection is poor, connectivity is highly unreliable, and  calls are routinely dropped, and tech support is inadequate. It has been a frustrating experience for me and the people who call me.

We’ve reached out to them numerous times, but no one is informed as to the nature of the problem or when service may be restored.As a communication company they have surprisingly poor communication with customers.Until recently NB had provided mostly reliable service. But we now wonder …
Matt Kurkowski: I've had netBlazr for almost 10 years (as long as it's been available in my building) and everything about the service has been phenomenal. In those 10 years, I can think of maybe 3-4 times the service went down and every time a rep knew exactly what was happening and was able to estimate a time of restoration; the customer service is great. The speed is what attracted me as both upload and download were the fastest available and often what I measured (using SpeedTest) was higher than what my plan quoted. Small bonuses: no extra equipment in my condo (they installed a jack where there used to be a phone line) and I was able to use my own WiFi router—Xfinity and other seem to penalize you for not using their proprietary one. Highly, highly recommended if it's available in your building.

Only time I ever had connection issues, I called and immediately got a live person who told me exactly what happened, when it would be resolved, and offered to compensate for the time lost. Really wish I could use them again.

Matt: Excellent service, even in more complex and unusual situations. I have a home server and at some point lost the ability to SSH (remotely connect) to it - the team at netBlazr were able immediately correctly diagnose the problem and fix it for me (even though it was an issue with my hardware rather than their service). Highly recommended!
Zain Ahmed: It’s decent internet. I have my unraid server running speed tests every hour or so, and the speeds regularly drop to about 30mbps down throughout each day (I pay for 500). Internet also drops frequency during rainy conditions, and has kicked me out of zoom calls as well due to their wireless infrastructure.I gave 5 stars because the customer service I had with them recently was great and makes up for some of the drawbacks.
Timothy Gallagher: Once we switched to NetBlazr from Comcast, we no longer had any drops in internet. Comcast had a monopoly in our area, and we were constantly getting dropped internet with all of us working from home. We haven't had that issue once with NetBlazr. The speeds have also been significantly better and having symmetrical upload and download speeds has made everything smoother and my work MUCH simpler.

Personable service when needed, but even better...I haven't needed it since installation! It just works, and now I don't have to think about it or argue with Comcast ever again.
Anthony Petrillo: Critical:QualityI cannot speak upon other Boston locations, but at our apartment in East Boston we barely ever get functioning service to our residence. Seems like there is an issue every other day. Switching to Verizon as we speak.
