The first time I took my husband's CRV which was only a few years old at the time and they told me the brakes were failing and I had to get them changed out because it was a safety concern. I went ahead and had them do the work. I went back a few weeks later in my car for an oil change (I drive by this location every day so it was convenient) and I got the exact same message. My rear brakes were failing and were a safety hazard. I better get them replaced or I was going to get into an accident. So given I had heard the exact same thing now twice for two vehicles that I had just come in for routine oil change I declined to do the work. My car has been absolutely fine and passed inspection 3 years each time since I was told my brakes would fail imminently. My husband's crv brakes on the other hand that I spent much money on to fix at this shop have utterly failed in just a few years. The terrible scraping noises it made did not give us confidence they worked nor that the car will pass inspection that is due. We just had them switched out at another shop. Despite driving by this store almost daily I will never be using their services for anything again. I have seen other posts now warning about the brakes here. Pete Shinn: TLDR: Never, ever use this business. They apparently enjoy preying on young women there.The details: I encouraged my niece to use this business because of its positive Google reviews. What a mistake. She went for a vehicle inspection and was told by Dennis Cassidy she couldn’t legally drive the car without getting a front break job, complete with new rotors and calipers— calipers which are available at any auto parts store for $75 or less, and for which she was charged nearly $500 each, before labor! That might be OK, except when she left after paying a grossly inflated price for the coerced break job, Dennis warned her to bring it right back if the vehicle made any funny noises. When it predictably did start making grinding and screeching noises every time she touched the brakes within hours after paying and leaving, my niece, as instructed, brought it back right away. Although Dennis had the car for two full days after my niece returned it, they never looked at it, and eventually my niece had to go demand her vehicle back from them, unrepaired. This is a business that preys on the unwary. They will definitely up charge you well beyond what’s reasonable, and you may or may not get your car fixed in the end, even after paying an inflated price.Service:Vehicle safety inspection

Two of the items on the inspection list were not providing adequate data, and whereas others might have taken the opportunity to charge me more, Nate correctly diagnosed that I had just had work done on the car and so needed to drive it for 50-75 more miles and return for a (free) re-inspection, which I did and it worked. I then used Nate to put on our winter tires. They are also super speedy and it’s great that they are open 24/7 so you can pick up / drop off your car beyond standard business hours.

I came in to renew my inspection sticker, however the mechanic at Aris pointed out that my tires had little tread which would not allow him to pass the inspection. And sure enough, that was the case - they were very bare. The folks at Aris quoted me on a very reasonable price for four new tires they had in shop and in less than 24 hours I got a text that my car was ready. Extremely nice and honest people. isha thapa: I was there for my auto inspection which they did but at the expense of my car's front grill. When I complained about the issue, the person who inspected my car was nervous initially and declined to take the responsibility. Then, the next person came and instead of taking care of the issue told me "Are you blaming that guy?" He even tried to blame me stating it might haven been damaged before I took it for the inspection. There is no way one can just drive with that damage, the front logo would fall off. The person who inspected my car flee away and returned back as I was leaving. Jackie Gorcyca: Took my car here in a pinch when some strange engine lights came on IRT traction control. The solution was a new rear axel and sensors. The mechanic was upfront in saying that only the sensors needed to be replaced however where they are located it is tricky to do that correctly so they had to replace the entire axel.A few weeks later the same lights came on. I opted to take the car directly to the dealer in case there was a known issue they could help with. The dealer gave me the same diagnosis about faulty sensors. Per the mechanic at the dealer, the sensors that I had just paid to replace at Aris were in horrible condition with exposed and pearling wires. The dealer was able to replace just the sensors and now the car is running fine.Not only did I waste my money on horrible service at Aris, I also paid for a new axel which per the dealer was not necessary.Shop around. I wouldn’t recommend doing anything more than an inspection here.

I am very glad to have found Eli's as I now have a repair shop in both MA & NH I can rely on for dependable service. To bad I can't find the same thing in CT where I actually live. vanessa steck: I used to use Elis exclusively for my car stuff. Then I came by and saw the sign on their door saying they respect your right not to wear a mask. First of all, the town has a mask mandate. More importantly, this shows a naked contempt for immunocompromised people, children too young to be vaccinated, and anyone at high risk. It also shows an utter lack of understanding of and respect for science. Absolutely never again.

Richard Fontana: I have gone to Mass Inspection for my inspection sticker for two years now. Most recently, I drove up to the entrance and parked, and one of the staff came out (bearing an uncanny resemblance to the CTO of my company), gave me a thumb's up and said he would need to drive the car to the inspection bay and that I could wait in the waiting room. The whole process took less than 5 minutes (or so it seemed). The staff person was very courteous and professional. I like how this place specializes in inspections, rather than it being a side line. They obviously care about ethics and integrity (based on the material they have put up on the walls of the waiting room). I drive a Tesla and I have worried a little in the past about inspection placles not knowing how to properly handle it but Mass Inspection is clearly experienced in dealing with Teslas. Although it's a little out of the way for me I plan on going here for as long as I remain in Massachusetts.Update: I went to Mass Inspection again (2023) and my high rating stands. One thing that was different this time was that there was a queue of vehicles getting inspected. I didn't realize this at first so I drove to the exterior of the bay but the owner directed me to drive to behind another vehicle that was waiting. This was a little confusing and I wonder if some more prominent signage about this might be helpful.
