University Music: what do users think?
Jenny M: Great place for instruments, music, and lessons! Everyone is very friendly and prices are very reasonable. Marlene has helped me numerous times when I am looking for specific music for my piano students, and has also helped me with small repairs on my violin. I greatly enjoyed taking violin lessons here with Natalia.
Anthony Volpe: When you need something for music, whether it be band or string or accessory’s, they have a place to go
James McNulty: Watch out for the big chicken, almost got me last time
Nathalia: i do my violin lessons here and its awesome
Suzi Weber: Knowledgeable and friendly staff and instructors. And jam-packed with instruments - definitely worth checking out!
Gdebanen-Noodenimin Clarke: Wonderful small-business with knowledgeable staff and teachers for lessons. Plenty of instruments and accessories for anything you need!
Richard J. Sheehan: Knowledgeable & friendly staff.. thanks Maureen and Eric. And lessons also.
Marlene Buckley: Best customer service! Delivered digital piano to my home!
Mark Claffee: We went to give our rising 5th graders a chance to see the instruments they can select between for next year. We got tons of 1 on 1 attention, they got to hold and try whatever instruments they were interested in. In the end everyone is happy and instruments are selected with confidence.
Jack Sharon: Great store! They carry music and instruments for all levels of musician! Marlene, the owner is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
Tq'λtsenoe Tchosenone: Great Place with friendly staff who definitely know what they are selling. A great help to the community, and definitely one of the most Iconic Stores in Lowell. Excellent Prices and range of accessories as well as instruments too! The staff is very down to earth and friendly,Marlene has a great memory for anything, anything, whether it is musical gadgets, gimmicks, or students she's taught (like my 20 year older than me cousin who she still remembers! Wow!)Eric is more than a whole unit of Inspiration from many Students across the Middle Schools, (where the band program and a generation of musicians begins), and is also very amicable,And I'm sure Buck is great. They also serve free cake on special dates!
Manu Hegde: Staff is very friendly and helpful. I have bought my alto sax, reeds, and tons of music from this place. My questions have always been answered quickly and easily. This place has lessons as well which I find very helpful. Overall, an excellent place for any instrumental or musical needs.
D Nel: I strongly recommend this place! They sell various instruments and it's the perfect place for band students. They do private lessons, got sheet music, can try the intrument out (as long as you bring your own mouthpiece) and got nice brands that I always use. The owner is very nice and kind. I feel that it is a bit more expensive here (at least saxophone reeds), but considering you'll most likely get what you want here, it's not bad at all. Strongly recommended!
Dominique Cyprès: The owner Marlene helped me find exactly what I needed.
Christian hayon: Great place, they have WiFi!
Thomas Radovan: Very knowledgeable great people
Eileen Oliveira: Friendly service
C S: Knowledgeable people helping us navigate the music instrument world. Very friendly people and reasonably priced rentals.
Gisele Couto: It was 4:10 pm on a Saturday and I realized that the store closes at 4, and luckily I calledThat lady waited for me until 4:30 and we’re able to get the violins for my girls. The best customer service, helpful and quick. Truly recommend them.
Joel Naticchioni: Very helpful and knowledgeable people here. They enjoy every instrument (and they have a LOT to choose from) that's in here, and are glad to help you find the perfect fit for your style and budget. Luthiers are available to fix and adjust almost anything. Music lessons are offered, too. It's a little hidden and tucked away, but the best places are.
Sabrina: Loved them, two nice folx that know their music, got a Yamaha from them for quite a deal, came with everything

Whitsett Guitar Works: what do users think?
Bill Trichos: I brought my PRS Silver Sky SE to Whitsett to address uneven fretwork from the factory. Pretty much to be expected from an import guitar. Bill leveled and polished the frets, as well as performed a full setup, and the guitar plays just as well as a Core Silver Sky now! So happy to have found a great luthier in the Boston area, and my guitars will only be going to Bill Whitsett when they have problems from now on. Thanks again Bill!
Bill Cogswell: Bill is an incredible craftsman and a great person. He's worked on a number of my guitars and I've always been thrilled.
C T: Bill restored a 1960's Martin D-28 for me, and the workmanship and sound are excellent. When I brought it to him, a number of my musician friends were skeptical - and when they got to play it after the restoration was completed they became believers.Bring the instruments you love to Bill. You'll be happy.
Hendrik Mahling: Bill has worked wonders on a one of a kind instrument (a 10 string cittern) - bringing it back to life and keeping it playing beautifully. Reasonable prices and quick turnaround times - don't look any further if you need work done on your instrument.
Bob B: Look no further than Whisett Guitar Works for all your guitar repairs & setups. I've been strumming for over 65 years and when Bill worked on my first guitar, I knew I had found the right place....... 👍🏻🎸👍🏻
Scott Kamieneski: Absolutely love this place!! Brought both my acoustic and electric guitar in for repairs and setup and they now play amazing! Bill is a legendary luthier!!
Antonio Rozzi: Best techs in the area by far. Couldn't be more professional. Will be going back for everything guitar related in the future.
Brian Manning: Bill has been an incredible influence and mentor in just about everything I know about guitars. Not only is he a Master Craftsman, but he deeply cares about the instrument, the “Wood”, as he so affectionately calls the guitars and other stringed beauties he works on.While I’m no real guitar player, I do have a very cherished ~ 30 yr old guitar that I have sent to Bill from time to time and it’s clear that he treats my “common man’s” instrument with the kind of love and care that you’d expect if you had a rare treasure or vintage guitar.
Paul Sylvain: I’ve been playing guitar for more than 55 years and I can tell you with complete certainty that shop owner Bill Whitsett is the absolute best in his field when it comes to repairing and maintaining stringed instruments. I’ve been taking my guitars to him for set-ups, bone nuts and pickup installs and swaps since around 2005 or ‘06, when he was in Lowell. His prices are fair and his work is impeccable. He’s as honest and up-front a craftsman as you’ll find anyway and stands behind his work 150 percent. I drive about an hour from my home in New Hampshire to his shop because, quite frankly, he’s the only guitar tech I trust to get it done right. When you find the best, you stay with the best.
Bill Norrish (Blue Wing Olive): Bill is a fantastic guitar tech.
Kurt Stahl: Bill is by far the best and most forthright in working with wood. Damn special guy too! Bring your instruments here. You'll thank me.
Mark Bouchard: Positive:Professionalism,QualityThis is the place to go. Amazing craftsmanship and a fantastically friendly place to go. Couldn't be happier with the work done fixing all of my homemade mistakes and setting up the guitar better than it's ever been set up. Thank you!
Brian Zudeck: Great Luthier
Michael Ruocco: Bill was great and very helpful. Roll the time to explain everything. I'll definitely be back.
Shakes 617: If your guitar needs work, this is the place to bring it to get professional work done. A+++++++ all the way.
Brad Clark: The bridge on my Seagull acoustic was cracking due to a poorly fitting saddle. Bill made me a custom bridge and bone saddle and it plays (and sounds) better than ever!Another time Bill fixed a crack on the body of my guitar. The wood had dried out from leaving the guitar hung on a wall hook during winter, instead of in a case with a proper humidifier.
Jeff Mullen: I got to say he knows his stuff. From Fretz to complicated electronics he’s fixed it all for me, most importantly my “work horse” guitars, I only bring to him!
John Sheehan: Can’t say enough good things about Bill Whittset. He’s a Master Guitar Tech/Luthier, hard working and honest. Only place to go for your guitar needs. Bring your Wood to Bill. Listen to his advice. Don’t forget to humidify your acoustic guitars in the case!
jeff cooney: Every review is 5 stars, enough said. Bill is a craftsman. Fixed my Martin in a week and now it sounds better than ever.
Paul Balmer: I brought Bill an acoustic and 3 electrics to set up with one of the electrics also getting a new bridge and pickups and I have to say that all 4 of them are playing better than they ever have! His shop is super cool and he's really knowledgeable about all things guitar and you can tell he loves his craft. If you're looking for a guy to work on guitars, you couldn't put them in better hands! Thanks Bill!
justin: Bill did a great job setting up my brand new Fender Strat, and also fixed a fret buzzing issue I had with it. It feels so great to play now. The turn around was just a few days, and right on time from his initial estimate.

Johnson Music: what do users think?
Raphael deSouza: Great place. Good selection.
Milissa Mailloux: Grandson has been learning from them for years. Very patient teachers. Great personality
Jonathan Northridge: I came here just to pick up a 1/4" cable. The only person to help me was a woman giving lessons who clearly wanted me out of the store ASAP. I asked if she had any cheaper cables (only saw 1 brand), and she told me to leave and get it somewhere cheaper if I wanted to. So I did. This place is nothing like independent music stores should be. No wonder they are disappearing.
Manish Kumar: Please update opening hours. Visited the office in Dracut today at 5:45 PM but it was closed without any information.
Mike Z: Very friendly in a big help
Robin G: I bought a guitar and ukulele! Just in time for Christmas. I got a great deal on both!
FLORENCE THOMAS: The people are very friendly. Good place to take your kids for music lessons
Rachel Lussier: I go here for guitar and piano and I would definitely suggest it!
