Angus MacGyver: Love their danish in all the flavors! The eclairs are the best around with a nice dry pastry, sweet custard filling, and just enough chocolate ganache on top. Their other Swedish baked goods are great as well especially the pepparkakors.
Josh Wright: No frills here but yummy inexpensive breakfast food. Normal bakery stuff. Looks to be the sort of place where they know your name. I enjoyed a freshly cooked bacon egg and cheese on a bagel that was made to order.

David Lingner: Donuts, eclairs, rugelach, fig squares, and RUSK! We sat inside and enjoyed our eclairs with coffee, then took the rest home. Best rusks in Worcester, and probably anywhere. I've been to Helen's twice during my current visit to my old home town, and I hope to go one more time before I head back to the other coast.
Evan Porter: Bulkie rolls were like the good old days of Widoff's and Lederman's. Chocolate chip cookies and pizzelles were also excellent. Most importantly, the service was friendly and attentive.

Hayley Paquin: I was disappointed with the flavor of some of the cookies I ordered. They had a weird gritty texture almost like chewing on sand. There were also MANY bugs and flies in the case that the cookies were kept so I can only imagine how many germs were on them from the flies landing. But oh well!

T Jablon: A coworker of my husband bought lunch one day, & he brought some home for me to try...I told him I wanted to try a fresh version of this wonderful grinder! A couple weeks later we adventured to this gem of a location, a bit off the beaten path (at least by car). We were enamored with the atmosphere, a mixture of an Italian bakery/Italian deli/Italian foods store. I have had the Italiano grinder, and it is wonderful! I couldn't pass on a package of Pizzelles, which were delightful. Please be sure to visit this location for lunch, you will not be disappointed!

Sarah Deal: Went in for breakfast and coffee after a rental tour nearby, got two breakfast sandwiches and lattes. Both were incredible. Best latte ever, and the sandwiches were huge and really good. Also bought a loaf of bread for later and it was still warm. Unfortunately we are moving into a different apartment so this won't be our corner restaurant, but I wish it was.
Geoff and Mal Yalenezian: This meeting spot was suggested to me by my good friend Guy. He's from the area and knows I like small businesses. This place is an absolute gem! Patronize this small business often because you are all very lucky to have them. From the moment I walked in I felt at home. First order of business. 2 dozen of the most amazing Anisette cookies. Ahh Supi for Thanksgiving dinner. Oh, don't forget the homemade Italian bread! Coffee maker was out. No problem! My guy Steve fixed us up a nice cappuccino. A fresh baked Italian cookie or biscotti. Bella! A perfect morning! Thank you

Prior to committing to a type of cake/flavor, I purchased some chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache and peanut butter buttercream. It was delicious and they turned that cupcake into an amazing wedding cake! Mara is so easy to work with and everything was stress free on our wedding day! Thank you so much!

Kayla Hepler: While visiting my boyfriend I decided to start exploring the coffee shops in the Worcester area and this is by far the best one! The service, the coffee, and the pastry’s are all you could ask for. My quiche was amazing and when my hands were full she delightfully carried the desserts I ordered to go to my seat so I could eat it. Skip all the other places and come here you won’t regret it.
Kelly W: This is, hands down, the best bakery in Worcester. The quiche is amazing, croissants are delicious, baked goods are beautiful and just perfect. Iced snickerdoodle latte is my fave. Staff is super friendly and seem to genuinely take so much care in serving customers. I'm a baker, and I go to OTR, so definitely check this spot out.
Kelcey O'Neil: Betty is simply incredible! Our family is gluten free and we choose On the Rise for every dessert/pastry need. We've placed numerous custom orders and every single one has been creative and delicious. The flavors are spot on and texture (which is difficult to attain for gluten free desserts) is impeccable. Most importantly, everyone at On the Rise is so friendly and easy to work with. Betty's desserts are always as stunningly beautiful as they are tasty. I wouldn't recommend anywhere but On the Rise!

Amber Hall: Yum! You sit where you please & order/pay via QR code. An introverts dream. The atmosphere is industrial comfortable. The lights are baskets with twinkle lights, dark exposed pipe with wooden walls. Lots of seating- booths, long tables etc. And it's big so you don't feel crowded. There were a variety of people- laptop workers, people meeting friends, business, etc. But the noise was low and you could hear the 2010'esq music playing (taking back Sunday, fallout boy, etc). The food was spectacular! I'm not a big bread person but the bread that came with the tomato bisque was the best bread I've ever eaten. The iced latte was also worth ordering again- you can add espresso & flavors. Will absolutely revisit my new fav brunch place in Worcester.

Rich De Almeida: Just started taking things off their menu on Sundays (maybe other days?). I would normally give BirchTree 5 stars. But they suddenly took off some of their best items like croissant breakfast sandwiches off the menu on Sundays despite having all the active ingredients right in front of you. Instead they force you to order off their limited Sunday brunch menu which is much more expensive. They did nothing to inform customers on their website in advance of this change so you find out the hard way after driving there.

Julia Victoria: I absolutely adore this place. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious and whimsical! I come here at least once or twice a month and get two dozen cupcakes for my employees each time. They are little pricy but worth it! You earn points with every purchase and can later utilize it to get a discount. I got treats here for my wedding, baby shower and many monthly workplace celebrations. Never had a bad order! I’d say the employees working here are much nicer than at Gerardo’s or the Bean Counter, which is also another reason I come here so often. Highly recommend it!

The quality has stayed the same, the cupcakes are moist and perfectly balanced both inside and outside, and I couldn't resist but get a set of 6 cupcakes. You won't be disappointed if you are in the area and want something to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Molly Burbank: My husband had been wanting to try this place for awhile and we finally made it there on 12/30/22. We were hoping for decent coffee and some yummy treats but our expectations were blown away! We had iced coffee with a shot of flavor and they were SO good. The coffee itself was such great quality, we are huge coffee lovers and these hit the mark. We got little cupcakes for our kids which they loved. We got their fluffernutter treat which was peanut butter and what tastes like homemade fluff between two peanut butter cookies. I was worried it would be too sweet, it wasn't it was UNREAL. We found the prices very reasonable considering the quality of all the products we had. We cannot wait to go back!

Christina Rivera: I loved queens cups for a very long time until i made an order with them a while back for my baby showerI paid $100.00 for 24 cupcakes and when I got them they looked like cupcakes you could pick up at the grocery store I was extremely upset but took them anyway because I had already paid so much money for them , they didn’t taste the best either the buttercream tasted really weird and they definitely were not fresh we even let them sit to room temperature before eating them,they make such beautiful stuff and to see mine was very upsetting the icing was not the color I wanted either it looked lime green and they didn’t even bother to make them look cute they just slapped some gold sprinkles on and that was it. (We put the signs in the cupcakes to make them look a little better)

Kelsey Haggett: We used the Bean Counter Bakery for our GLUTEN FREE wedding cake! For the style, we wanted something classic and timeless, and they created exactly what we were hoping for. Alice was incredibly easy to work with and made the process simple for us. And then the best part - the cake was absolutely delicious. As someone with celiac disease, I wanted to be able to eat my own wedding cake, and the Bean Counter allowed me to do just that. When our guests saw me eating it, they couldn't believe it was GF, that's how good it was. I would highly recommend using them for a wedding cake! But I have also gone to the Bean Counter plenty for coffee and other GF treats, and it never disappoints.
Maliha Alma Marium: The frosting is too sweet. Not to mention, some of the frosting clearly shows that they are old pastry. Old frosting is sort of like playdoh, so you can understand that they do not take time to throw out old items. The coffee tastes horrible. When Starbucks tastes better than a coffee place, that coffee place is not worth going back to. Also, depending on who makes your hot chocolate the taste will vary drastically. Also, bad customer service and they do not follow instructions.
